Of the major cruise lines, few offer a more diverse lineup of ship classes than Royal Caribbean. In fact, for the most-part, Royal Caribbean ship classes are quite distinguishable from each other. In this post, we're highlighting class specific features and giving you the insight to choose the best ship for your next Royal Caribbean cruise. \n \nRoyal Caribbean has been a leading innovator in the cruising industry for over five decades. From 1996 through 2025, Royal Caribbean introduced a new cruise ship every year in all but seven of those years. Their current fleet of 30 ships which includes two under construction, are grouped into eight ship classes, each with their own base of specific common features. \n \n \n \n Vision Class \nCurrently the oldest vessels in the fleet, Vision Class ships were launched between 1995 and 1998 and of the original six ships in this class there are four remaining. With two full decks of balcony staterooms & suites, Vision class ships made the once out-of-reach balcony stateroom more accessible for cruisers. Theses ships were also the first to feature Royal Caribbeans adult-only Solarium. \n Grandeur of the Seas \n Maiden Voyage: December 1996 \n Size: 73,817 GRT \n Length: 916 ft \n Staterooms: 996 \n Guests: 1,992 (double) \n Last Refurbishment: 2012 \n \n 2025-2027 Itineraries: \n Bahamas (Fort Lauderdale, Tampa), Caribbean (Fort Lauderdale, Tampa) \n \n Grandeur of the Seas \n \n Grandeur of the Seas - Theater \n \n Grandeur of the Seas - Solarium \n \n \n \n Rhapsody of the Seas \n Maiden Voyage: May 1997 \n Size: 78,491 GRT \n Length: 915 ft \n Staterooms: 1,020 \n Guests: 1,998 (double) \n Last Refurbishment: 2025 \n \n 2025-2027 Itineraries: \n Caribbean (Tampa, San Juan) \n \n Rhapsody of the Seas \n \n Rhapsody of the Seas - Centrum \n \n Rhapsody of the Seas - Pool Deck \n \n \n \n Enchantment of the Seas \n Maiden Voyage: July 1997 \n Size: 82,910 GRT \n Length: 989 ft \n Staterooms: 1,142 \n Guests: 2,252 (double) \n Last Refurbishment: 2017 \n \n 2025-2027 Itineraries : \nCaribbean (Tampa) \n \n Notes: \nEnchantment of the Seas was lengthened in 2005 by cutting the ship in two and adding a new 73-foot section. Aside from their tremendous size, Voyager Class introduced many firsts like ice skating on real ice, the rock-climbing wall, the Royal Promenade with interior facing staterooms, Johnny Rockets Diner with waterview booths, plus expanded food and beverage options, entertainment venues and enhanced Royal Caribbean signature spaces. Over the years, these ships have been upgraded many times to include some of the latest most popular features from across the fleet. \n Voyager of the Seas \n Maiden Voyage: November 1999 \n Size: 137,276 GRT \n Length: 1,020 ft \n Staterooms: 1,801 \n Guests: 3,602 (double) \n Last Refurbishment: 2019 \n \n 2025-2027 Itineraries: \nBaja/Riviera Mexico (Los Angeles), Aust
