Princess Cruises to Expand Fleet with Three Next-Generation “Voyager Class” Ships Princess Cruises, a leading subsidiary of the world’s largest leisure travel company, Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), has officially announced three new shipbuilding agreements with renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. The contracts will yield an entirely new “Voyager Class” of cruise ships, representing a massive investment in next-generation marine technology and elevated passenger experiences. The three new vessels are slated for delivery in late 2035, 2038, and 2039. Built at Fincantieri’s historic shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the Voyager Class ships will become the largest vessels by capacity in the Princess Cruises fleet. Vessel Specifications at a Glance: Gross Tonnage: 183,000 tons Guest Capacity: Approximately 4,700 passengers Delivery Dates: Late 2035, 2038, and 2039 Primary Fuel Source: Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Reimagining the Guest Experience The Voyager Class is designed to build upon the highly successful, award-winning Sphere Class platform—which introduced the Sun Princess and Star Princess —while pushing the boundaries of onboard design. Princess Cruises has promised a seamless blend of the brand’s highest-rated legacy venues with entirely new concepts. The forthcoming ships will feature completely reimagined outer decks, modernized staterooms, and a newly conceptualized central Piazza to cater to a diverse, global demographic of travelers. Gus Antorcha, Princess Cruises President stated: “The Voyager class will delight both our loyal guests and attract the next generation of Princess guests. We have been leveraging extensive customer and agent research to strike the right balance between evolving our proven winners and introducing new concepts and partnerships grounded in what matters to our current and future guests. From exceptional dining and inviting pool environments to elevated entertainment and beautifully reimagined spaces throughout the ship, we are leaving no area untouched as we thoughtfully evolve the Princess experience.” Further specification details and specific onboard amenities are expected to be unveiled closer to the inaugural sailings. A Commitment to Sustainable Cruising In alignment with the cruise industry’s aggressive push toward greener operations, the Voyager Class ships will be dual-fuel powered, operating primarily on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). LNG is currently recognized as the best readily available advanced fuel technology in the maritime sector, delivering immediate greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions and significantly lowering air emissions compared to conventional marine fuels. The addition of these three Voyager Class ships will bring Carnival Corporation’s total portfolio of LNG-powered vessels to an impressive 21 ships, reinforcing the parent company’s broader sustainability goals. Strengthening an Industrial Partnership The massive order also represents a significant operational milestone for Fincantieri. The agreement cements a robust workload for their Italian shipyards well through the end of the next decade, providing deep economic stability for the region. Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal: “We are delighted to announce this new agreement with Princess Cruises, which confirms the strength of a long-standing and forward-looking partnership. These new orders secure a robust workload for our shipyards through 2039 and further support the profitable development of our cruise business, as outlined in our 2026–2030 Industrial Plan. With the new Voyager-class ships, we are once again leveraging Fincantieri’s distinctive expertise in sustainable, next‑generation shipbuilding.” Looking Ahead for Carnival Corporation This announcement is a cornerstone of Carnival Corporation’s ongoing fleet enhancement strategy, designed to accelerate demand
